Making my Avery Fisher Hall debut with the NYC Gay Men's Chorus.
Chorus member and neighbor, Stuart Cohen, had this picture snapped
of us with the advertisement. I've had my name on lots of
marquee boards through the years, but this was the first with
my face emblazoned on it ... and in such company! WOW!

complained that the signs provided the concert goers were all
printed with "Bravo", the tech crew created for a me
a personalized "BRAVA" sign ... which, incidentally,
still hangs on my refrigerator at home! |

Again at Lincoln Center before a NYCO performance of Don
Giovanni,
this time with my mother, Ruth and brother Paul Waite. In all
the years of my singing career, it was the first time my family
was able to come to NYC to see me perform.

After a San Angelo Symphony Christmas Pops concert with Justin
White (baritone) and the late Dr. Eldon U. Black (basso profundo),
a DEAR friend, as well as one my first voice teachers. |

This picture was snapped as I was heading to an Opera in the
Park performance of Il Barbiere di Siviglia with
the Met. The sausage vendor was always parked on the corner by
my Upper Westside apartment and my companion, Matthew Parsons,
thought it was hysterically funny to have me in my performance
attire paired with the "sausages" sign. Quinessentially
New York! |
